JK Rowling, author of the Harry Potter novels, has donated 15 million U.S. dollar fund to open multiple sclerosis clinic research as a form of tribute to his late mother.

Anne, the mother of the writer’s fortune, spent 10 years to fight the disease until she died in 1990 at the age of 45 years.

Rowling has delivered more than one million U.S. dollars to establish the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He hoped that the clinic will be a center of research experts in the field of regenerative neurology that could help people with multiple sclerosis disease and other neurological diseases, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

“I can not think of anything more important or more lasting than this. I’d rather help a university neurological engaged in this because this has long-term medical history to be able to find a cure,” he said.

“I have just entered the age of 45 years, the age when my mother, Anne, died of the disease that she suffered. I know, he’d rather his name was in the clinic than in sculpture or flower garden.”

“Donations also I point out to my mother as thankfulness because he has given everything to me as long as he lived,” he said.
