Shadeslayer Fan of the Week

Name: Peter
Age: 19
Country:
U.S.

How did you like Eldest?
However long-winded it was at points, I enjoyed reading it. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on an advanced readers copy (thank you, eBay) and was able to read it before everyone else, which was a treat.

How do you feel about the news of a fourth novel in the Inheritance Trilogy? Well, Inheritance Cycle now.
I'm not surprised. I wondered how Paolini was going to tie everything together in the third book without rushing it or making it incredibly long and he evidently decided that he couldn't. I think it's cool that we'll get a few more years of Inheritance, since the movie flopped.

Are you excited for the next book, being released September 23, 2008?
Yes, most definitely. I can't wait until it's available for pre-order. Hopefully we'll have a title soon.

Are you a fan of the Eragon Movie? Why or Why Not?
No, not at all. It was rushed, Saphira looked like a scaly blue dog, essential characters were left out and the screenplay was horrible.

Which book did you like better, Eragon or Eldest?
Probably Eldest, though I sometimes got annoyed with how it switched back and forth so often between Roran and Eragon, just when you wanted to know what would happen next.

Who do you think will ride the green dragon in the third book?
If Paolini is as obvious with key plot development as he was in Eldest (Morzan being Eragon's father? Come on...) it'll probably end up being a character we've already been introduced to.

Who is your favorite character?
Probably Oromis, just because he's so mysterious.

If you could choose one magical power to have for just one day, what would it be?
I'd like to have the ability to read a text (novel, article or otherwise) of any length in under five minutes and retain all information.

Do you think Murtagh will ever come to the good side?
If Paolini is as obvious with key plot development as he was in Eldest, probably.

If you could predict one person who will die in the third book, who would it be?
Somebody big and you'll be all, "Damn, it sucks that Paolini killed him but I totally saw it coming."

If there’s anything else you’d like to add, such as a theory or a “Hello” to a friend, do it here.
Hello, Kathy Griffin. I think you're funny.
