How do I get a cool layout like the one at Shadeslayer?
Well John, you either need to find someone willing to design you a layout for free or you
need to pay to get one. I would trust a professional web design business over anyone
else.

What are some good programs to use when designing and scripting a layout?
For designing I use Photoshop and Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7. I suggest Photoshop over
PSP. For scripting I tend to use good 'ol notepad, but for less experienced
scripters I recommend Dreamweaver. Note that all of these programs cost a lot of
money... Or ehm... not so much money if you know where to go. :P

How do I start off a website?
Good question... Really, its pretty hard. I started out on Geocities (which is a
horrible free host) and moved my way up. Making a site takes a lot of time, so you
need to keep at it.
